Work at home moms do great work!
48Work at home moms making handmade goods.
In my quest to start going green and save some money in the process, I came across wahm handmade goods. I had been searching for some cloth diapering alternatives that were well-crafted, organic and inexpensive when I had the pleasure of finding two great sites that each have hundreds of wahm stores within them. Not just for cloth diapers!
These great women create everything from swiffer sweeper pads to owl pillows, clothing and home decorations. If you have been looking for something unique and sustainably made for a great price definitely try some wahm-wares.
Custom made just for you.
The first of the two sites that I came accross is a place called "Etsy". Most of these wahms will even custom make something for you if you can't find exactly what you are looking for. I had a custom diaper made. It cost me all of $11 including shipping and is the exact fabric I wanted, great craftmanship and works wonderfully!
Find Something Unique
"Hyena Cart" is another reputable handmade goods site. Toys, clothes, jewelry and much more. One of the best items I uncovered here is natural soap. Those trendy little bars of specialty soap that can be found in places like the Whole Foods Market for upwards of $10.50 each can be found here for $5 including shipping!
Where to find WAHMS handmade goods locally
You can find beautifully handcrafted items close to home if you know where to look. Some places to start are:
- The Farmers Market. If your town doesn't have one, there is one nearby and it's worth the drive!
- Locally owned natural food stores.
- Your local newspaper.
- And don't forget your neighbor, sister-in-law and the lady that sits in front of you at church. WAHMS are everywhere!
